The TFQC Coalition encourages all local health care providers to connect their patients to needed tobacco cessation services. Coalition members offer education on the Ask, Advise, Refer process to healthcare providers, that they can then use with their own patients. The Ask, Advise, Refer process involves the following steps:
- Ask – EVERY patient about tobacco use at EVERY visit
- Advise – all tobacco users to quit
- Refer – those ready to quit to cessation services
